Good morning, Mr Hellingman. I am a researcher from the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and we are building a museum of Boholano history and heritage at Loay, Bohol. We would like to ask for your permission to use the photographs of Bohol in the early 20th century in our museum displays. These photos were taken by Ed Sharp and posted in the Historic Photographs Gallery. We hope for your positive and immediate response. Thank you very much.

Hello again. I'm also trying to trace the Bayron line from Duero. My grandfather is Sofio E. Bayron, who is the son of Lorenzo Bayron. I would love to get in touch with relatives. Thank you.

Hello. I'm trying to put together my family tree. My great great grandfather is Emilio Del Valle, his daughter Rosario Del Valle married Florencio Doliente. I believe they are from Ubay, Bohol. Can someone please help me connect to their descendants? Emilio Del Valle's sister married Eutiquio Boyles, and their Daughter Nita Boyles, married Emilio Del Valle who was Mayor of Ubay. One of their children is Quito Del Valle. Thank you.

I was looking for the original birthplace of my grandfather whom i have never met. he used to own Mocaboc island until the family sold it in the middle of the 70s. I would really love to know more about him. His name is Emiliano Balorio. His descendants mostly live in Pooc, Talisay Cebu.

I came across this account/site looking for an appropriate translation to a word i need for my homily. And i was surprised that you have in this site an electronic copy or something of Kaufmann's dictionary. I am a Mill Hill missionary and i never heard of any inquiries about this book, exp on its use in the internet. I don't know very much about copyright and patent, but i believe Mill Hill Missionary Society, at least in the Philippines, have something to say about it, or at least informed (?) since Kaufmann was a member. The copies of the dictionary are indeed very rare.

Hi Benny, good to hear from you. Since John Kaufmann died in 1942 (based on the records of the Hill Mill Missionaries in London), the copyright on his work in the Philippines has ended (50 years after his death, rounded up to the next full year, that is, on January 1, 1993). I have one original copy here, which I used to prepare this digital version, but have never seen any other copy offered for sale.--Jeroen.

I am glad to found your website! It is very helpful "to find the right words ..." As a German pensioner I enjoy the winter months in the Philippines. But I am also curious to know what the people talk around me. That's why with the help of people, dictionaries & your site I can learn step by step. Madamo salamat gid!

I live in the U.S. and met a family form another province. I looked at the map to see where they lived and I saw Bohol and was curious to know what it looked like. I found this website. What a beautiful place! I hope to visit there one day.

Maayong gabii! Salamat kaayo....
